Michael won the Junior Men's 13-14 National Championship Road Race on July 28, in Bend Oregon. We are super happy and proud of him. It was super hot (95 degrees) and a tough and hilly 40 km (25 mile) course (7 laps of a 5 km circuit plus 2.5 km in and out to the circuit). From the 60 starters 7 boys formed a group about half way through, and Michael said that he could tell he was probably the strongest of these 7. On the 2.5 km back to the finish they shed 4 riders and then 1 more, so Michael was left with a 2 up sprint for the line. Michael won this handily, giving him lots of time to celebrate before the line.
