| ALEX BORNSTEIN hailed originally from Chicago, but she and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was still an impressionable little thing. Then she grew up.
After receiving her BA in Rhetoric from San Francisco State University, Alex asked herself, "So what does one do with a degree in Rhetoric?" She started doing some stand-up and improvisation with local groups in the Bay area.
Then she moved back to Los Angeles to earn her Master's degree, but was quickly sidetracked.
She joined ACME Comedy Theatre, which soon led to her being cast as a series regular on MADtv. During her five years on the show she brought such characters to the screen as Ms. Swan and the Gap Troll.
Alex also wrote and provided voiceover for Fox's Family Guy. You can still catch Alex on the WB's Gilmore Girls.
She has also appeared in various motion pictures including, "Coyote Ugly", "Showtime" with Eddie Murphy and Robert Deniro, and will be seen in the soon to be released movie, "Lizzie McGuire".
