Gerry Dee is a first-generation Canadian, though the rest of his entire family was born in Glasgow, Scotland – a fact he refers to during his routine, jokingly stating that Scottish people hate everyone.
Dee was also an active hockey player and golfer during his college years, and he frequently qualifies at both the United States and Canadian Amateur Championships. After working for nine years as a schoolteacher, he changed his career path in 2003 to stand-up comedian and began doing comedy full-time. He has also appeared on television productions such as Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham and The Late Late Show. He also starred in the Canadian feature film Trailer Park Boys – The Movie. Dee will also be appearing for the third time at the Just For Laughs comedy festival held every year in Montreal, which is considered the world’s largest comedy event.
