JOHN PINETTE America's number one standup comedian, has been entertaining audiences around the world for fifteen years. He was recently named Stand-up Comedian of the Year by the American Comedy Awards, and has received a Gemini Award nomination for his superb televised performance at the Montreal Comedy Festival.
Best known for playing the car-jack victim on the Seinfeld finale, John is also a regular on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
John began his comedy career at the age of twenty-two. It wasn't long before he was touring comedy clubs around the country. Shortly thereafter, John got his big break when he was asked to tour with Frank Sinatra. Opening engagements with Howie Mandel, Ray Charles and Michael Bolton would soon follow.
Hollywood began to take notice and John was asked to bring his talent to the screen. He was one of the stars of the syndicated series, The Grudge Match, and then worked on the NBC pilot, Smart Guys.
John made guest appearances on Alf and Carol & Co., followed by NBC's movie Thanksgiving Day with Mary Tyler Moore.
NBC then cast John in their pilot, Sunday Funnies, created by Ron Leavitt and Michael Moy (The creator's of Fox's Married With Children).
Next was a starring role on the Fox sitcom, Vinnie and Bobby. He worked for Fox again as a series regular on the hit show Parker Lewis Can't Lose.
John has built an extensive film career as well. He landed his first leading role opposite Greg Kinnear in Dear God, directed by Gary Marshall. John co-starred in the Warner Brothers film Reckless Kelly, and gave a memorable performance in Duets, starring Gwyneth Paltrow. Other film credits include a starring role opposite Dennis Rodman and Dane Cook in the Columbia Pictures feature, Simon Sez, and a hilarious turn opposite Rodney Dangerfield in My Five Wives. He was also in Junior, starring Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as the Fox Television movies Revenge Of The Nerds III and IV.
John has continued to perform stand up at comedy clubs all across America as well as on shows such as MTV's Half Hour Comedy, A & E's An Evening At The Improv, Caroline's Comedy Hour, Fox Television's Comic Strip Live and Showtime's Comedy Club All-Stars.
