MARTY
POLLIO is a multi-talented, and extremely versatile performer
who incorporates standup comedy, juggling, and physical-comedy
tightly choreographed into one cohesive, mesmerizing act that
has been a favorite of television shows and corporate buyers
alike.
Having grown up the son of a racketeer in Louisville Kentucky,
one of Marty's high school jobs was delivering the "gifts"
to the local cops and judges ...so it makes sense that he became
the black sheep of the family for becomming a mime and juggler.
Marty was eqally influenced as a youngster by both Dick Van
Dyke and Carlos Santana (if you've seen his act, you can understand
this).
After
moving to Los Angeles, Martys amassed credits that include
multiple appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson,
(even one of Johnnys New Years Eve Specials!), as
well as being on the show with Jay Leno. Jerry Lewis invited
Marty to be on his annual Cerebral Palsy telethon, and Penn
and Teller had him on their "Sin City Spectacular",
taped in Las Vegas. Marty has performed part of this act in
the movie Punchline with Tom Hanks and Sally Field,
and has had recurring parts on many television shows, including
Night Court, Empty Nest, and Blossom.
Because many of his high-energy physical pieces are performed
to music, Marty has had the opportunity to perform all over
the world, everywhere from USO shows held in tents near the
Iraqi border, to European television programs. Over the years
he has appeared in concert with such notables as Ray Charles,
Robin Williams and Kenny G.
As a nationally known talent, he was chosen to be a special
movement instructor for Michael J. Fox, on his famous Pepsi
commercials, as well as the movement coach for Tony Award winning
company - National Theater of the Deaf.
Blending his street-performer skills into a well-timed act that
never loses its comedic focus.
